Board President, Ivory Morgan-Burton

 

Ivory Morgan-Burton is an established and award winning business leader, entrepreneur, pastor, mentor, coach and counselor. She established Storybook Events and A Fulfilled Wish, in 2007, providing local national and international clients special events planning and exquisite floral designs to enhance corporate and private celebrations.  Her past success as a marketing/promotions director and an on air personality for a Virginia radio station, including having her own one hour live program called 'Heart to Heart'. Put her on a first-name basis with industry power-houses for personal interviews such as Lt. Colonel, Oliver North; Congressman, Randy Forbes; musician, John Tesh; Mrs. Pat Robertson, Regent University; singer, CeCe Winans; singer, Nicole Mullen; musical group, Mercy me and numerous others.

Morgan-Burton has been deeply embedded in the bridal and event industry for both corporate and the private sector for over 30 years. Serving as Managing Editor for The Wedding Planner Magazine-Hampton Roads and Brand Ambassador for The Wedding Planner six magazines. Her experience in the retail industry as a buyer and senior level floral designer for large, national chain stores, enabling her success as a master designer for small to large events. Including Eastern Indian weddings, celebrities and the designer of choice for large corporate as well as not-for-profit events needing stunning designed table-top and venue decor.

Morgan-Burton founded a 501(c)(3) charity, Holiness To The Lord Ministries, Inc. (1990) which is still in operation to serve displaced, mentally and physically abused women to counsel, assist and re-introduce them to a normal life within the community. 

Involvement in women-centric business and charities, Morgan-Burton has been President of the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) working directly with Star Jones of the NAPW. Serving on the President Advisory Board as a NAPW Key City Chapter President. Co-chair for Dress For Success-Hampton Roads. Board member for the Hampton Roads Business OutReach (HRBOR) Virginia’s only LGBT Chamber of Commerce. A consultant/planner for bridal shows, foundations and associations

 

Board Vice President, Cynthia Gossman

 

After 15 years of working in the world of business, accounting and sales, Cynthia saw her life change dramatically when she was widowed at the age of 30. Shifting from surviving to thriving, Cynthia began rebuilding and reinventing herself and the direction of her life while adjusting to being a single parent and the sole provider of her family. It wasn’t long before Cynthia received her calling to serve others. The combination of optimism, empathy, and communication skills empowered her into becoming the visionary and founder of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit mentoring men and women who had lost their spouses much too early in life.

During that decade-long work, Cynthia became an expert in the grief and mourning process while earning her certifications in Christian Grief Coaching and JOY Restoration Coaching.  Additionally, she has been trained by American Foundation of Suicide Prevention, American Academy of Bereavement, and Center for Loss and Life Transition. Cynthia was nationally recognized by Parade magazine and Living the Life, an ABC Family TV Show, for her excellence in coaching and in mentoring fellow widows and widowers. Locally, she has been the recipient of the WAVY TV “10 Who Care” Award and the WTKR Community Star Award for her accomplishments in giving back to the community.

Today, Cynthia continues to evolve in personal leadership and growth, offering services that guide individuals and companies toward emotional intelligence. Trained by OKA (Otter Kroger Associates) in the EQ-i2.0 self-assessment and the EQ360 team assessment instruments she is certified to administer both of these powerful tools.s discover greater self-awareness and better self-management.

 

Chapter Secretary, Erika Grasse 


Erika Grasse is a perfect fit for the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Raised by military parents she was able to travel the world and then marrying she became a military spouse. Erika is an active member of the community, she has been supportive of ministry with running a youth group for 10 years. A Girl Scout leader for 16 years, her troop is still active, the ACHI WSWA ladies will see them all at some point. As they are never far from her. Erika currently has a position  with TRose International Management Group, Inc. which lends itself for her to meeting those in the bridal, event and modeling industry. This giving her the opportunity to form great professional relationships. Supporting and helping youth is a key focus of Erika Grasse, having run before and after school programs as well as preschool too. Erika earned her BA and started a business, Freelance Managerial Business Services, offering specific brainstorming sessions with an artistic muse flair to make sure that the business she is working for is unlike another business and reflects it’s own style that gives others the support and necessary skills to aid them in starting their own businesses. A professional person, her focus is being fair and just in all  business practices. Erika smiles a lot and those that know her will all agree she has a big heart. Married to her high school sweetheart, Juan Grasse, they have 2 amazing children, Taylor 21 and son Trevor 18.  

 

 

Members Recruiter & Relations Manager, Claudine L. Ellis

 

Claudine Ellis has been a real estate practitioner for over 10 years. Her goal as a real estate professional is to serve her clients, put their needs first and give them an outstanding buying experience. Mrs. Ellis is extremely passionate about the real estate industry and strongly believes real estate is an extension of who she is. Claudine is not only a real estate practitioner but also an investor. She has been one of Hampton Roads Top agents since the inception of her career. 

 

In her spare time, Claudine loves to spend time with her family, volunteers at her church, is an avid reader and travels often.

Mrs. Ellis knows the importance of giving back to her community. She is a volunteer director and videographer for the Voice of Revival program broadcasted world-wide—and has been doing so for over 15 years for Calvary Revival Church. Additionally, Claudine has also volunteered at the USO on Little Creek Military Base serving the MilitaryTroops.

Claudine resides in Chesapeake with her beautiful family.

Mentoring Program Manager, Dr. Carlenia Jackie Jackson

 

Dr. Jackie Jackson writes under the pen name, Jackie Laberif. Jackie is a native of Tarboro, North Carolina. Professionally, she is the CEO of a nonprofit youth services organization and founder of Boys Leadership Alliance, a non-profit program for boys ages 6-18 in Coastal Virginia. She is also a part-time professor and doctoral dissertation chair for an online university. Jackie earned her Ph.D. in Human Services with an emphasis in Counseling Studies from Capella University, Masters of Arts Degree in Community Agency Counseling and Bachelors of Arts in General Studies-Psychology from Hampton University. Dr. Jackson is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc and the Friends of Hampton Roads, Inc.

Mass Communications Manager, Tiffany Boyle

 

An expert in the field of marketing and entrepreneurship, Tiffany is the Chief Executive Officer and Editor in Chief of Emerge the Magazine. A company that focuses on being a promotional and informational resource for entrepreneurs and business owners. She is also the Program Director of the non-profit association, Access Virginia, an organization that is focused on providing access to live theatre and the arts for the disabled by providing open captioning and audio description services.

 

Tiffany founded Emerge the Magazine in 2014 to provide numerous avenues of exposure for small businesses and the people that run them. She has traveled extensively throughout the world networking, creating memories, making friends, and helping others.

 

A Florida native, currently residing in Virginia, a graduate in Business from Virginia Wesleyan College and earned her Master’s from the University of Maryland University College in Management.

 

Tiffany Boyle conducts interviews, composes articles, participates in panels, and hosts events.
